“Public debate, democracy and the role of social media. French and Australian perspectives”

A public lecture organised in partnership with the Alliance Française Adelaide and the Bob Hawke Centre of the University of South Australia.

Professor Arnaud Mercier, Pantheon-Assas University and Institut Français de la Presse, a specialist in political communication and President of the administrative council for The Conversation France website, will tour Australia from August 29 to September 1 for a series of conference debates.

These conferences, aimed at the wider public as well as experts, are an occasion to discuss the effects of the recent elections and the resulting evolution of the French political and media landscapes. They also provide the occasion to compare French and Australian perspectives, particularly on the use of social networks in the politico-media sphere.
